Scores use the DHSC 2018 nutrient profiling model published January 2026, computed per 100g or 100ml from Leon's per-portion figures and the portion weights it publishes in the LEON Foodie Fact Sheet and Barista Drinks Menu, September 2026 v1, issued 16 September 2026. Points are given for energy, saturated fat, free sugars and salt, then subtracted for protein, fibre and fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds. A lower score is better. Food is classed as less healthy at 4 or above, drinks at 1 or above.
Free sugars are Boone's estimates from each ingredient list, because Leon publishes total sugar only. Fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds are scored as zero except for the slaw, charred broccoli, side salad and smoothies, which are mostly vegetables or fruit, and the bean-based pots, rice boxes and vegetable-led salads, which are given partial credit. Where two items share a score, the one with more penalty points is ranked worse.
Barista drinks are not scored, because Leon does not publish their volumes and the model works per 100ml. Large soft drinks are not listed separately, because every size of the same drink returns an identical score. For the four muffins on a gluten-free bun, Leon prints two portion weights; Boone uses the first.
