Wagamama Nutrition: Full UK Menu Breakdown

Every dish on the Wagamama UK main menu, measured against what a specific person actually needs in a day rather than an adult average.

Two things Boone does that a nutrition label does not

Every figure set against an age. The Signature Seafood Ramen carries 10.4g of salt. That is 173% of an adult's daily limit and 347% of the limit for a child aged 4 to 6. Same bowl, different answer, and the label only ever gives you the adult one.

Free sugar counted honestly. Wagamama publishes total sugar only. NHS daily limits apply to free sugars, which exclude the sugar naturally in milk and whole fruit. Where Wagamama does not publish the split, Boone counts the full figure rather than guess, so a figure here is never understated.

What the menu ranges from

Dishes run from 163 kcal for the Wok-Fried Greens up to 1350 kcal for the Hot Yasai Katsu Curry, across 9 sections. The lightest main is the Grilled Chicken Ramen at 456 kcal. Your choice of base changes a meal a lot: white rice is 400 kcal and cauliflower rice is 71 kcal, and every rice, noodle, broth, sauce and extra has its own page in the sides and extras section. 24 dishes on the main menu are listed by Wagamama as vegan.

Where does Boone's Wagamama nutrition information come from?+

Boone uses the nutrition and allergen information Wagamama publishes for its UK main menu, then calculates how much of the daily guidelines each dish uses for your age and sex.

How often is the Wagamama UK nutrition information updated?+

Boone updates the Wagamama pages when Wagamama changes its published UK nutrition information, including new dishes, recipe changes and dishes leaving the menu.

Is Wagamama UK nutrition information the same as in other countries?+

No. Recipes and portion sizes vary by country, so Wagamama figures from elsewhere do not apply here. Boone only uses Wagamama's UK nutrition information.

What nutrition information is shown for each Wagamama dish?+

Each Wagamama dish shows its calories, sugar, saturated fat, salt, protein and fibre, along with the allergens Wagamama declares. Every figure is also shown as a share of the daily guideline for your age and sex.

How does the Wagamama nutrition calculator work?+

Open any Wagamama dish and set an age and sex. The calculator shows its calories, sugar, salt, saturated fat and protein as a share of that person's daily guidelines.

Can I calculate the calories and nutrition for a full Wagamama meal?+

Yes. Start with any main, then add small plates, extras, a sauce and a dessert. The calculator totals the meal and shows how it fits the daily guidelines for your age and sex.

Does the rice or noodle choice change the nutrition of a Wagamama dish?+

Yes. A 250g portion of white rice is 400 kcal, brown rice is 370 kcal and cauliflower rice is 71 kcal. Soba noodles are 398 kcal, rice noodles 354 kcal and udon 333 kcal. Each base has its own page in the sides and extras section.

How are the daily guidelines worked out for my age and sex?+

Boone uses UK government and NHS guidelines, which differ by age and sex. Saturated fat is limited to 20g a day for women and 30g for men, and free sugar to 30g for adults but 19g for children aged 4 to 6. Choosing an age and sex recalculates every figure against the right limits.

Why does the calculator show different figures for children?+

Children have lower limits for free sugar and salt and need less energy, so the same dish uses a bigger share of their day. A child aged 4 to 6 has a limit of 19g of free sugar and 3g of salt, compared with 30g and 6g for an adult.

Which Wagamama dishes are highest in salt?+

Ramen and the larger curries carry the most salt. The Signature Seafood Ramen has 10.4g, which is more than an adult's full 6g daily limit. Broths and sauces add more, so check the extras you add in the calculator.

Why does Boone count all of Wagamama's sugar as free sugar?+

Wagamama publishes total sugar only and no ingredient lists. Some of that sugar comes from vegetables, milk or fruit, which NHS limits do not count, but without a recipe there is no reliable way to separate it, so Boone counts the full figure rather than understate it.

Does Wagamama have a gluten free menu?+

Yes. Wagamama publishes a gluten free menu, and some dishes on it have different figures from the standard version, such as the gluten free ramen. Boone lists that menu on its own page. If you have coeliac disease or a gluten allergy, tell your server before ordering.

Which Wagamama dishes are vegan?+

Wagamama lists 24 dishes on its main menu as suitable for vegans, including the yasai katsu curry, tofu firecracker, kare burosu ramen and the bao nut desserts. Each dish page says whether Wagamama lists it as vegan or vegetarian.

Does the Wagamama nutrition information include allergens?+

Yes. Each dish page lists the allergens Wagamama declares as ingredients and the ones it says the dish may contain through cross-contamination, including from shared fryer oil. Wagamama asks anyone with an allergy to tell their server on every visit.

How can I make a Wagamama meal healthier?+

Swap white rice for cauliflower rice to save about 330 kcal, choose a lighter main such as the Grilled Chicken Ramen at 456 kcal, and go easy on extra sauces and broths if you are watching salt. The calculator shows how each change affects the meal before you order.
