Scores use the DHSC 2018 nutrient profiling model published January 2026, computed per 100g or 100ml from the per-100 figures Caffè Nero publishes in its Allergen, Nutritional & Ingredient Guide (GB) issued 9 September 2026. Points are given for energy, saturated fat, free sugars and salt, then subtracted for protein, fibre and fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds. A lower score is better. Food is classed as less healthy at 4 or above, drinks at 1 or above.
Drinks are ranked once, at Regular where a Regular exists, with semi-skimmed milk (oat for the two drinks Nero serves with oat as standard), because the model scores per 100ml and every size of the same drink returns an identical score. Fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds are scored as zero except for the fruit pots and fruit salad, which are wholly fruit, the Mango & Passionfruit Booster, which is fruit purée, and the tomato soup, which is mostly vegetables; this understates salads. Where two items share a score, the one with more penalty points is ranked worse.
