Scores use the DHSC 2018 nutrient profiling model published January 2026, computed per 100g from portion weights collected by Boone. Points are given for energy, saturated fat, free sugars and salt, then subtracted for protein, fibre and fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds. A lower score is better. Drinks are ranked at Grande with semi-skimmed milk, because the model scores per 100g and every size of the same drink returns an identical score. Ice is excluded from cold drinks so they are scored on the drink as made. Fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds are scored as zero except for the four items that are wholly fruit, which understates salads and bowls. Items are excluded where Starbucks does not publish a fibre figure, along with toppings that are not eaten on their own and discontinued or duplicate records. Where two items share a score, the one with more penalty points is ranked worse.
