Starbucks US publishes an ingredient list for each component of a drink. Boone counts every distinct named ingredient across those lists and ranks all 162 drinks with a published list, in the Grande size and split by menu section, showing how many are manufactured rather than something you could cook with at home.

Ingredient lists are from Starbucks US published nutrition information from the starbucks.com menu, for the standard recipe in each size, checked in October 2026. Boone counts every distinct named ingredient, including sub-ingredients, removing duplicates; ice and water added at the counter are not counted. Manufactured covers substances that only exist as an output of industrial processing. Drinks with no published ingredient list (the Koia shakes, Horizon milks and the Mango Strawberry Energy Refresher) are left out. Each drink is ranked in its Grande size, or the standard size where there is no Grande (Double shot for espresso drinks); every other size has its own page with the same figures.
