Each dot is one item. The UK government’s 400-600-600 guidance suggests about 600 kcal for lunch or dinner, so anything past the line is more than a whole meal on its own.

600 kcal or lessOver 600 kcal

The 8 items in this section range from 91 kcal for the KFC Hot Wing (per piece) up to 478 kcal for the KFC Large Popcorn Chicken.

The most free sugar in this section is the KFC Sweet Chilli Drip'd Bites at 21g, which is 111% of the daily limit for a child aged 4 to 6. Boone separates free sugars from the sugars that occur naturally in milk, which NHS daily limits do not count.

Corrections. Figures that cannot be right are corrected, and free sugar is worked out from the ingredients where they are published.

Guidelines. UK government and NHS limits by age and sex. Healthiest and unhealthiest rankings use the UK nutrient profiling model.

Allergens. Always check with the restaurant if you have an allergy.

Images. Item images are illustrations created by Boone, not photographs.

Common questions

What nutrition information is shown for KFC Chicken?+

Each KFC Chicken item is listed with its calories, sugar, salt, saturated fat and protein, and how much of the daily guideline it uses. Open any item for the full breakdown and allergens.

How does the KFC Chicken nutrition calculator work?+

Open any KFC Chicken item and set an age and sex. The calculator shows its calories, sugar, salt, saturated fat and protein as a share of that person's daily guidelines, and you can adjust the portion size.

Can I add sides and drinks to see a full KFC meal?+

Yes. Start with any KFC Chicken item, then add sides, drinks and sauces from across the KFC menu. The calculator totals the meal and shows how it fits the daily guidelines for your age and sex.

How are the daily guidelines worked out for my age and sex?+

Boone uses UK government and NHS guidelines, which differ by age and sex. Saturated fat is limited to 20g a day for women and 30g for men, and free sugar to 30g for adults but 19g for children aged 4 to 6. Choosing an age and sex recalculates every figure against the right limits.

Why does the calculator show different figures for children?+

Children have lower limits for free sugar and salt and need less energy, so the same item uses a bigger share of their day. A child aged 4 to 6 has a limit of 19g of free sugar and 3g of salt, compared with 30g and 6g for an adult.

Where does Boone's KFC nutrition information come from?+

Boone uses the nutrition and allergen information KFC publishes for its UK menu, then calculates free sugar and how much of the daily guidelines each item uses for your age and sex.

Does the KFC Chicken nutrition information include allergens?+

Yes. Each KFC Chicken item page lists the allergens KFC declares, including where cross-contamination cannot be ruled out. If you have a severe allergy, always check with the restaurant before ordering.

Why is the sugar figure different from KFC's own nutrition information?+

KFC publishes total sugar, which includes the sugar naturally found in milk and whole fruit. NHS limits apply only to free sugars, so Boone separates the two and measures free sugar against your daily limit. That is why an item can use less of your limit than its total sugar suggests.
