Every item on the Burger King US menu, measured against what a specific person actually needs in a day rather than the adult Daily Value on a label.
Added sugar against a per-meal limit. The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2025–2030 set no more than 10g of added sugar in a single meal from age 11, and none at all for children aged 10 and under. Burger King publishes total sugar only, so Boone estimates the added share from each item’s ingredient list. On that basis a large Coca-Cola carries 88g of added sugar and a Vanilla Shake about 63g, while Fat Free Milk has none, because all of its sugar is lactose.
Limits by age and sex, with UK guidance a click away. The daily sodium limit is 2,300mg for adults and teenagers but 1,500mg for a child aged 4 to 8, so a Whopper is 54% of an adult’s day and 83% of a young child’s. Every calculator recalculates for an adult man or woman or a child of any age from 4, and switches to UK NHS guidance, which also counts the sugar in juice and fruit purée.
