Pizza Express Nutrition: Full UK Menu Breakdown

Every dish on the Pizza Express UK menu, measured against what a specific person actually needs in a day rather than an adult average. Every pizza has its own page on each base.

Two things Boone does that a nutrition label does not

Every figure set against an age. The Pizza Express Calabrese Large Classic carries 11.5g of salt. That is 192% of an adult’s daily limit and 383% of the limit for a child aged 4 to 6. Same pizza, different answer, and the menu only ever gives you the adult one.

Free sugar counted honestly. Pizza Express publishes total sugar only. NHS daily limits apply to free sugars, which exclude the sugar naturally in milk and whole fruit. Boone deducts milk sugar only for gelato and milk drinks, where it can be estimated, and counts the full figure everywhere else, so a figure here is never understated.

The base matters more than the toppings

A Margherita is 711 kcal on a Classic base, 769 kcal on a Romana base and 1,347 kcal as a Large Classic. Across the menu a Romana base adds about 77 kcal to the same pizza, and the gluten-free Romana base adds roughly 259 kcal more again: a gluten-free Romana Margherita is 1,033 kcal against 685 kcal on a gluten-free Classic base. Each base has its own page, and the calculator lets you switch to the gluten-free version.

What the menu ranges from

Pizzas run from 612 kcal for the Pizza Express Vegan Margherita Classic up to 1,956 kcal for the Pizza Express Calabrese Large Classic. The Leggera pizzas, which have a hole in the middle filled with salad, run from 472 to 563 kcal. 32 food dishes and 40 drinks are listed by Pizza Express as vegan, and every Classic and Romana pizza can be made on a gluten-free base accredited by Coeliac UK. Kids’ dishes, drinks and the airport breakfast menu each have their own section.
